Florida Craftsmen Workshop a Success!

On Sunday, October 24 th, Florida Craftsmen brought Tallahassee woodturner John Penrod to South St. Petersburg to conduct a fabulous demonstration workshop, The ABCs of Lidded Vessels, at the St. Petersburg Clay Company.

This educational outreach program is part of Florida Craftsmen’s mission to broaden public awareness, understanding and appreciation of art objects made by hand through meaningful craft experiences.

Fourteen participants traveled from across the state and as far away as New Smyrna Beach. (insert images around text)

Evaluations and verbal feedback reflect that attendees were thrilled with their experience finding it “enjoyable, informative and fun.”

Robert Rully of Tampa said he found the workshop to be a “great value.” Jim Edmiston expressed that he looks forward to future Florida Craftsmen programs in the Orlando/Ocala area. Brian Troutman from Land O’ Lakes looks forward to future woodturning and furniture making programs sponsored by Florida Craftsmen.

Workshops will be presented in Fall 2005 to coincide with Florida Craftsmen hosting Curv-iture, the Furniture Society’s traveling exhibition. Keep checking this website for news of upcoming workshops and other events.
