Before you know it, the sixth annual CraftArt festival will be here - scheduled to take place the weekend of October 26th and 27th, 2002. The festival will feature a select 125 fine craft artists from around the country, a demonstration tent and an artist-in-the schools program. We are busy in the office preparing sponsor packets and the artist application. Applications will be mailed to every Florida Craftsmen member-artist in late April, and the deadline to apply is July 20th.
We are pleased to announce that this year's CraftArt juror will be Ms. Mary McElwain, an art consultant who has also worked closely with the St. Louis Art Fair. She is involved in many corporate and artistic projects and often works directly with visual artists placing works in public spaces and collections. Ms. McElwain brings with her over 20 years of experience from the field of contemporary art and fine craft. Florida Craftsmen welcomes her expertise as we look forward to a high-quality, successful festival for Florida Craftsmen, the University of Tampa, and especially the artists.
If you are interested in acting as a festival sponsor, or know of an individual, business or corporation who might be interested, please contact the FC office at 727.821.7391. We have a lot of sponsorship opportunities available and would be happy to share all the details with you! Volunteers and Committees are also being formed at this time... we would welcome your help and involvement!
