Ongoing. The Jacksonville International Airport Arts Commission is seeking Florida craft artists to showcase at the Jacksonville International Airport. Artwork is displayed in four glass kiosks in the main terminal building for a period of three months. Discrete sales are permitted.

July 1, 2006 - Fashion Art Adornment 2006 - Nov. 17-19 - Meadowbrook Hall, Rochester, Mi - this show will feature 80 fashion artists, jewelry, accessories, clothing and outwear. July 31, 2006 - Exterior Public Art RFQ for a St. Petersburg, Florida, city recreation center for youth and senior adult programming. Art for a covered walkway may address wall, sidewalk or planters, or any combination of these elements. The budget is $50,000. Interested artists may view a detailed prospectus and drawings at www.stpete.org. Submissions must be postmarked on or before July 31, 2006.

August 15, 2006 - Florida Craftsmen announces a creative challenge for Florida's fine craft artists. Any artist who is a Florida resident is invited to apply. Produce a $50 or less (retail price) fine craft object of excellent design, good craftsmanship and an original idea. Selected artists will be given awards: $500 First Place, $150 Second and Third Place and three honorable mention awards of a Florida Craftsmen membership. Winning artists will be invited to produce a limited series (6-12 pieces) for sale in the Florida Craftsmen Gallery.

Your piece is your entry fee. Previous entries or works currently in the gallery are not eligible. All entries become property of Florida Craftsmen. No returns, two entry limit. Selected artists will be announced and their work on display at the September 15th opening reception of Harmonic Resonances.

Judges for this competition are Barbara Melby-Burhans, Ira Burhans (artist - owners of the Painted Fish Gallery) and David Bewley (award winning educator and artist). Send entries before August 15th including name, address, phone number, email address and retail price of entry to:
