Beyond the Fringe:
Florida Fiber Art 2000

An exhibition of new and innovative work by Florida artist working
 within the diversity of the fiber medium

The South Florida Fiber Artists and Florida Craftsmen jointly organized this exhibition that features 41 works by 34 artists. Ken Uyemura, founder and former chair of the Department of Weaving and Fiber Art at the University of Miami, juried the exhibition. Selections made are both attentive to historical techniques and fine craftsmanship as well as convey fresh perspective in their use of material, forms and methods.

Exhibition artists include: Bonnie Dubbin Askowitz, Nancy Billings, Jan Boyer, Sheila Brew, Laura Militzer Bryant, Val Carroll, Rosemarie Chiarlone, Kimberly Childs, Fern Cohen, Carol Drummond, Erman, Jacquie Fort, Connie Forneris, Barbara Grodin, Kianga Jinaki Hanif, Kathleen Homes, Betty Kjelson, BJ Lang, Eleanor McCain, Joan McGee, Janet McIntyre, Nancy Merritt, Benija Morgenstern, Pat Oblak, Jane Plante, Carol Prusa, Donna Rhodes, Emmie Seaman, Fran Skiles, Mei Ling St. Leger, Eva Walsh, BW Watler, Ellen West and Jean Yao.
