Join Us for a Creative Weekend of Workshops with Internationally Recognized Visiting Polymer Clay Artists

Florida Craftsmen welcomes polymer clay pioneers Steven Ford, Margaret Maggio and Pier Voulkos to St. Petersburg this coming May 3rd through 5th for an exciting weekend of hands-on and demonstration workshops to be held at The Arts Center. "The New Clay: Polymer Clay Workshops" will be held in conjunction with the highly anticipated exhibition "Seeing Spots: New Developments in Polymer Clay" curated by Steven Ford and scheduled to open the same weekend at the Florida Craftsmen Gallery. Six different workshops will be offered for interested participants of any skill level. Additionally, the ever-popular Bruce Baker workshop will be held on Monday, May 6 at the Tampa Museum of Art, making it a complete weekend event for artists to develop both their artistic skills as well as marketing abilities.

Pier Voulkos, who lives and works in Oakland, California, will be teaching two beginner level workshops: "The Amazing Invisible Cane" on Friday, May 3 and "Beadmaking with the Amazing Invisible Cane" on Saturday, May 4. Also on Saturday, participants may choose from Maggie Maggio's "Watercolor Beads" workshop for all levels of students or Steven Ford's "Advanced Caning" for the more experienced beadmaker. Sunday's offerings include a workshop for all levels titled "Customized Colors and Canes" with Maggie Maggio from Portland, Oregon, and an intermediate class with Philadelphia, PA artist Steven Ford titled "Black and White Mosaic". Florida Craftsmen is honored to offer these workshops presented by such high-profile artists to our own Florida artist community and the public.
