Open call to artists looking for a place to work in clay in the Ft Lauderdale/Miami area. We are an open studio with wheel and hand building supplies in Hallandale Florida. Asian Artists
Who, in your humble opinion, are the best Asian artists, ceramic and other, living and working in the U.S. today? Where are they and how can one see their work?

Temporary Visiting Artsit Teaching/Tech. Residency Position - FAU; Boca Raton
The FAU Ceramics Department has a position for a temporary Visiting Artist Residency for one academic year; Aug. 14, 2000 - May, 11, 2001. This position was just approved last week. Handbuilders/Ceramic Sculptors, Women and Minorities are encouraged to apply. Qualified ceramic artist must have a MFA in Ceramics. Teaching experience college/university level preferred. Resident expected to teach one to two Handbuilding courses. Salary: $20,000.00 with private studio space in auxillary ceramic area; some clay and glaze materials for the academic year as well as access to equipment and kilns. Person hired expected to help maintain shop equipment, help order materials as needed, perform spot inventory, assist in supervision of Graduate TA/GA's (the Ceramics Dept. has a newly established Graduate MFA program), help load and fire occasional kilns, instruct students in appropriate use of equipment and aid in the general running and supervision of the Ceramics facility. Wearable Art
Maitland Art Center in Maitland, Florida has the most wonderful wearable art by Ruth Funk on exhibit until October 29. Mrs. Funk will also conduct a luncheon/fashion show of her clothing designs in the Spring of 2001 at the Maitland Art Center.
