Augusts Arty Party a First-time Success
Florida Craftsmen, in conjunction with the American Stage Theatre and The Arts Center in St. Petersburg embarked on a casual summer adventure of food, fun and fundraising through The Arty Party, held August 10th at the Port of St. Petersburg. Deemed a first-time success from the three non-profits, The Arty Party attracted over 225 guests and raised more than $6,000.
During this tropical-themed event, partygoers dined on fabulous island fare provided by Emmersons Catering, sipped beer provided by Budweiser, danced to the terrific sounds of the Rock N Chair Band, and bid on brown bag auction items provided by local hotels, restaurants, spas and local companies. Some big-ticket items included a weekend retreat at the Renaissance Vinoy Hotel and a hot-air balloon extravaganza ride.
The brainchild of Al Karnavicius, co-owner of Bayprint in St. Petersburg with his wife Nancy (former FC President), The Arty Party was designed as a beat the summer doldrums fun-raiser and a great way to collectively gather artists, friends and arts patrons of three downtown organizations together for an evening of socializing and entertainment. The party was so well received that the committee has already begun brainstorming a theme for next summer! Thanks to everyone who attended in support of this first-time effort, and to those who volunteered their time and donated gifts for the brown bag auction:
